The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Ahmed Wadada, has unveiled an ambitious development blueprint for the state while calling on party members to unite ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking in Lafia on Monday after formally accepting his emergence as the APC candidate, Wadada said the time had come for reconciliation and collective action following the party’s governorship primary election.
He stressed that his victory was not a personal achievement but a mandate entrusted to him by party members and citizens seeking a more prosperous and peaceful Nasarawa State.
The APC candidate introduced his policy framework, tagged the HEARTS Agenda, an acronym for Human Capital Development, Economic Enhancement, Agriculture, Rural Transformation, Technology and Investment, and Security.
According to him, the agenda is designed to build on existing achievements while expanding opportunities for economic growth, youth empowerment, rural development, innovation and improved security across the state.
Wadada pledged that, if elected governor, his administration would prioritise transparency, accountability, job creation, institutional strengthening, and support for women, youths, farmers and entrepreneurs.
He also promised to attract investments and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, saying sustainable development would remain at the core of his administration’s policies.
The senator commended the APC leadership for conducting what he described as a transparent and credible primary election, noting that the exercise reflected the party’s commitment to internal democracy.
He equally praised Abdullahi Sule for providing leadership and laying a foundation for development through investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, industrialisation and security.
Wadada expressed appreciation to fellow aspirants, including Hassan Liman and Fatima Abdullahi, for accepting the outcome of the primary and placing the party’s interests above personal ambitions.
Declaring that there was “no victor and no vanquished,” he urged party faithful who may feel aggrieved by the outcome of the contest to remain within the APC fold and contribute to its success in 2027.
The governorship candidate also reaffirmed his support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu, stating that the Renewed Hope Agenda was aimed at achieving long-term economic stability and national development.
He called on residents of Nasarawa State to embrace unity and work together towards building a state with better opportunities, quality education, improved healthcare, enhanced security and sustainable prosperity for all.
