Osun APC moves to address grievances amidst defections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has intensified calls for internal reconciliation and unity following recent defections by some party members ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
A party chieftain, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, while speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, urged the APC leadership to investigate the concerns of aggrieved members and take proactive steps to prevent further exits from the party.
According to him, every member remains valuable to the party’s electoral fortunes, making it necessary for party leaders to sustain ongoing reconciliation efforts and stakeholder engagements.
Oyintiloye acknowledged the recent defections but described them as a common occurrence during election periods, insisting they would not derail the APC’s preparations for the governorship contest.
He said the party’s strength lies in its extensive grassroots structure across the state, noting that ongoing consultations and mobilization efforts have helped maintain cohesion within the ranks.
The former lawmaker also expressed confidence in the candidature of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), whom he said has generated enthusiasm among party members and attracted support from diverse segments of the electorate.
He argued that the APC remains focused on reclaiming power in the state and called on party faithful to remain committed to grassroots mobilization and voter engagement.
While expressing optimism about the party’s chances at the polls, Oyintiloye stressed that unity and collective effort would be crucial to achieving victory, urging leaders to continue addressing internal concerns in the interest of the party’s long-term stability and success.
