From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi
Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state has charged all Principals of Secondary Schools in the state to come up with a workable solution to the massive Senior Secondary School Examination failure recorded in spite of huge investment by government in the education sector.
A press release signed and issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Deacon Ishola Michael Adeyemi made available to newsmen in Bauchi yesterday, said the charge was made by Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda during a meeting with education managers in the state held at the Government House. Governor Yuguda said from 2007 to date, his administration had
expended over N50 billion in the provision of infrastructural facilities, text books in core subjects as well as upward review of students feeding allowances by hundred percent.
The Governor further explained that, Government has already fulfilled its obligation by implementing the improved Teachers Salary Scale and other inducement and wondered why no significant improvement is being recorded.
It will be recalled that, Bauchi State which had a total of 29,332 students that sat for the (SSE) Examination for 2014, came second to the last in the whole of the country with only 5.28% results.
