Troops Neutralise Several Terrorists, Recover 600 Rustled Cattle in Zamfara
Troops have neutralised several terrorists who launched an attack on Gummi in Zamfara state on Friday.
Reports from the area said that the terrorists run into an ambush by the troops who engaged the criminals in sustained gun fight forcing some of them to abandon their motorcycles and fled with gunshots wounds.
Our reporter gathered that apart from the terrorists neutralised, many others were arrested.
The troops also recovered 600 cows rustled by the criminals around the area.
The troops are currently undertaking mop up operation in the general area, while investigations will be conducted to determine the owners of the cows recovered with a view to handing them over to the original owners.
The success of the operation is a major boost to the security forces working to restore peace and stability in Zamfara and other parts of the North West where bandits and terrorists operate.
