Tragedy as speeding car crushes traditional leader to death in Sokoto

The Magajin Garin Gagi in Sokoto State, Alhaji Bello Hassan, has lost his life after he was hit by a speeding car on Wednesday.
Eye witnesses said that the body of the deceased was severely mutilated and had to be collected in pieces for the funeral prayer held on Wednesday.
Alhaji Bello Hassan was returning from his farm when a young man speeding to attend a horse racing event holding in the outskirts of Gagi town, crashed into him, dismembering his body into parts.
The driver of the car is said to be the son of another traditional traditional title holder in Sokoto.
The body of the deceased was initially taken to hospital by personnel from Unguwar Rogo Police Division, Sokoto, and later handed over to the family for burial.
The District Head of Gagi, Alhaji Sani Umar Jabbi, confirmed the incident, urging that justice must be ensured for the family of the deceased.
The Police have not responded to the incident.
