A pro-President Bola Tinubu political support group, Tinubu Lungu Lungu 2.0, has announced a shift from its 2023 campaign operations to what it described as a permanent, data-driven grassroots mobilisation structure aimed at strengthening support for the President and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Sa’idu Gumau, said the organisation has evolved into an institutional structure focused on ward and polling unit coordination across the country.
According to him, Tinubu Lungu Lungu 2.0 now operates in all 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory and the 774 local government areas through a chain of command extending from the national secretariat to state coordinators, local government coordinators, ward representatives and polling unit commanders.
He said the organisation has established representatives in all 8,809 wards nationwide, adding that its strategy is built around data collection, grassroots engagement and structured mobilisation.
Gumau explained that polling unit commanders are responsible for maintaining registers of supporters, monitoring Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection and carrying out door-to-door voter sensitisation in Hausa and other local languages. Ward representatives, he said, compile weekly reports detailing new voter registrations, transfers, community meetings and issues raised by residents.
According to him, the information gathered at the polling unit level is transmitted through ward, local government and state coordinators before reaching the national secretariat, enabling the organisation to assess mobilization efforts and identify areas requiring greater political engagement ahead of the elections.
The national chairman identified the North-East as the group’s immediate expansion priority, noting that the region comprises six states and 1,059 wards.
He named the state coordinators as Loice Alesa for Adamawa, Babakura Alhaji Ali for Borno, Abba Kolo Jampol for Yobe, Abbas Adamu Loddo for Taraba, Hon. Usman Dahiru for Gombe and Nuhu Abubakar Gambo for Bauchi.
According to Gumau, the coordinators submit weekly reports to the national secretariat and are tasked with harmonizing stakeholders, coordinating grassroots activities and meeting voter registration and mobilization targets across their respective states.
He also said the organisation serves as a platform for explaining Federal Government policies and programmes directly to communities.
Gumau stated that the group’s grassroots teams engage residents on issues such as the removal of fuel subsidy, the Consumer Credit Scheme and the student loan programme, with the aim of improving public understanding of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In addition to mobilization, he said Tinubu Lungu Lungu 2.0 functions as a grassroots feedback mechanism for the APC by gathering reports on fertilizer distribution, primary healthcare services, classroom rehabilitation and rural road projects for onward transmission to party leaders and relevant government agencies.
Speaking on Bauchi State, Gumau said the group’s structure is aligned with former governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, whom he described as the APC’s 2027 governorship flag bearer in the state, while Nuhu Abubakar Gambo coordinates the grassroots network.
He added that elders, youth leaders, women groups and former aspirants are being integrated into a unified political structure ahead of the next election cycle.
Gumau further linked the group’s activities to what he described as renewed stability within the APC under the leadership of National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, saying the development has strengthened grassroots mobilisation efforts.
He maintained that with coordinators operating across all 774 local government areas and 8,809 wards, the organisation is already conducting PVC awareness campaigns, tracking new voter registrations and organizing community engagements involving artisans, transport unions, students and traditional institutions.
Expressing confidence in the group’s preparations, Gumau said Tinubu Lungu Lungu 2.0 is positioned to secure increased electoral support for President Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
