We are not first to battle for justice in the Assembly – Jigawa lawmakers

Following the rowdy session over the amendment of some laws related leadership in the 7th Jigawa state house of Assembly, the members insisted that this is not the new thing in the history of house of assemblies in Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of lawmakers whom opposed the motion Alhaji Ibrahim Sulaiman Gwiwa representing Gwiwa constituency in the house said, they would never allow any body to frame new law just to suit his personal interest.
“We are not battle for any leadership in-fact i’m among the outgoing members but is not fair to make a law for the incoming new house while our tenure is about to terminate” he said.
According to him, the new law that would restrict new member from seeking any leadership in the house, or a law that would not allow the former impeached speaker from contesting any office in the house.
Gwiwa added that, “we with majority in the house says no to this new order and majority must carried the board this is what we fought for and this is what house ruled on”.
He maintained that, the house turn to rowdy session with aim to ensure justice and according to him that is what democracy is all about.
