Journalists for Better Health Initiative (JOBETH), has called on security operatives and law enforcement agents to arrest and sanction fake administers of Ebola vaccine in the state.

Coordinator of the group, Mr. Iliya Kure made the call at a one-day stakeholder’s enlightenment lecture on Ebola Viral Disease (EVD) in Kaduna yesterday, when he expressed concern over the illegal activities of individuals in the state.

Kure called on such people to desist from such acts. “It is disturbing to hear that some people are going about vaccinating Nigerians with what they claim to be Ebola disease vaccine.

“We call on such people to desist from such acts, and equally call on law enforcement agents to arrest and sanction such individuals,” he said.

“This meeting was in line with the objective of sensitizing residents of Kaduna and Nigerians on the Ebola disease that is currently bedeviling the world.

“Like other Nigerians and organizations, JOBETH is concerned with the entry of Ebola disease into the country. We are also worried that the disease has claimed a number of lives and we feel, as responsible journalists, we need to go beyond the media platform to sensitize more citizens by creating an avenue where they will ask questions and get answers.

“We commend the efforts of Federal, Lagos and Rivers State Governments

for containing the spread of this disease in Nigeria.
