Spain stormed into just their second-ever FIFA World Cup 2026 final with a magnificent, tactically flawless 2-0 victory over powerhouse France at a packed Dallas Stadium.

Luis de la Fuente’s men stifled a lethal French attack and delivered a masterclass in precision to secure their place in Sunday’s showpiece finale in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The highly anticipated clash of titans began with high intensity, but the game fundamentally shifted in the 22nd minute. Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal data-checked his brilliant tournament form by weaving into the box and drawing a clumsy foul from French left-back Lucas Digne.

Forward Mikel Oyarzabal stepped up and coolly slotted the resulting penalty past Mike Maignan to give La Roja a 1-0 lead. It marked the first time the formidable French team had trailed during the entire tournament.

France’s woes deepened just minutes later when star defender William Saliba was forced off with a tournament-ending injury. He was replaced by Maxence Lacroix as Didier Deschamps scrambled to reorganize his backline.

Any hopes of a French comeback faded dramatically in the 58th minute. Following a sharp piece of interplay initiated by Dani Olmo, right-back Pedro Porro stormed into the penalty area and fired a clinical strike past an outstretched Maignan to make it 2-0.

Despite boasting a glittering front line spearheaded by Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé, Les Bleus simply could not break through Spain’s compact and brilliantly organized defense.

Spain held 51% of possession and restricted France’s explosive transition game until the final whistle.

With this victory, Spain keeps their staggering 37-match unbeaten run alive and stands just one win away from duplicating their historic 2010 World Cup triumph.

They will face either England or reigning world champions Argentina—who meet tomorrow in the second semifinal in Atlanta—in Sunday’s ultimate showdown
