Anniversary: FOMWAN holds special prayer for Al-Hikmah University’s VC, commends founder

The Kwara State branch of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) has organized a special prayer session in honour of the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Prof. Lateef Oladimeji, to mark his one year in office.

The prayer session, held at the association’s Secretariat in Ilorin, brought together Islamic scholars, Muslim women and well-wishers who gathered to appreciate Allah for the achievements recorded by the Vice-Chancellor within a short period.

Speaking at the event, the Amirah of FOMWAN in Kwara State, Hajia Bilqees Oladimeji, commended the Vice-Chancellor for his purposeful leadership, noting that his administration has recorded remarkable progress, particularly in the accreditation of courses, which has significantly enhanced the academic standing of the university.

She also highlighted the impactful support of Prof. Oladimeji on the establishment of FOMWAN in Kwara State.

The Amirah emphasized the improvements in teaching and learning, describing the academic environment as more conducive for both staff and students.

According to her, the welfare of workers has been given priority through better working conditions and promotions, while students have equally benefited from improved welfare initiatives.

The Amirah further applauded the revitalization of sports activities in the institution, stating that it has contributed to the physical and mental development of students, as well as fostering unity within the university community.

She attributed the successes recorded by the Vice-Chancellor to divine support, emphasizing the importance of prayers in leadership and institutional growth.

The Amirah noted that the gathering was a continuation of spiritual support for the university leadership.

She commend the Founder of Al-Hikmah University, Chief (Dr) Abdulraheem Oladimeji, describing him as a visionary leader and a great benefactor whose commitment to education and moral development has established a lasting legacy.

The Amirah noted that the founder’s unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement have played a vital role in the achievements recorded by the current administration, adding that the solid foundation he laid has enabled the university to grow steadily.

The association offered prayers for the Vice- Chancellor, asking Allah to grant him more wisdom, strength, and guidance in the discharge of his duties.

FOMWAN also prayed for the management, staff, and students of the university, seeking unity, good health, knowledge, and continued progress for the institution.

The association called for sustained support and prayers for the university, as the Vice Chancellor marks his first anniversary in office.
