COVID-19: Adamawa govt set up preventive/preparatory Centre

As a preventive and preparatory measure against the outbreak of corona virus, COVID-19, the Adamawa state government has set up an isolation and containment Centre.
Commissioner of Health, Prof. Abdullahi Isah announced this while taking health supporting partners and journalists round on an inspection at a ten bed facility at the specialist hospital Yola on Friday that there is yet no recorded or reported case of the virus in the state.
Prof. Isah said the government has it on record that no any registered case therefore deliberately brought the isolation Centre with a view of not taking chances or any eventuality
“In Adamawa so far, no case has been diagnosed but in Nigeria, two cases of the virus have been diagnosed, one is Italian national and the other is a French national.
“We also forged collaboration as a government and Ministry of Health and the Yola International Airport clinic to report any suspicious cases to the specialist hospital for immediate attention.
“There are ongoing media awareness on radio and television encouraging personal hygiene and we encourage motorists and travelers to wear face mask as a means of prevention “Isah attested
The Commissioner added that an ambulance is attached to the Centre as well as an oxygen machine to aid a patient breathing if the need arises.
Commenting on the development, Managing Director of the Specialist Hospital Yola, Dr. Dauda Wadinga applauded the government for setting up the Centre considering that COVID-19 has become a global challenge.
