The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Muttaka Rabe-Darma, has pledged to mobilize more than one million votes for President Bola Tinubu and Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda in the 2027 general elections.
The pledge was conveyed during the weekend in Katsina by the Director-General of the Grassroots Mobilisation for Tinubu/Dikko (GMTD 2027), Abubakar Tsanni, during an interactive session with youth and women groups.
Tsanni said the support group, founded and chaired by Rabe-Darma, was intensifying grassroots mobilization through partnerships and strategic engagement with political groups across the state.
According to him, GMTD has established structures from polling units to the state level to coordinate mobilization efforts for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
He disclosed that the group had identified 165 committed voters in each of Katsina State’s 6,651 polling units, a figure he said translates to more than 1.079 million votes.
“Each of the people involved has a voter card and is waiting for the election period to cast their votes for Tinubu and Dikko,” Tsanni said.
Representing the minister, APC chieftain Danlami Kurfi described Rabe-Darma as a seasoned grassroots mobiliser, expressing confidence that the APC would secure victory in the next general elections.
Kurfi also urged party supporters to ignore comments from opposition parties and remain focused on ensuring the re-election of Tinubu and Radda.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Katsina State House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, Ali Abubakar-Albaba, pledged continued support for the mobilization drive and called on party members to remain united ahead of the polls.
