Kogi Leaders Pledge Massive Support for Tinubu, APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Date:

The Kogi State Government and key political stakeholders have pledged overwhelming support for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, citing ongoing federal and state development projects as evidence of the administration’s impact.

The assurance was given on Tuesday as the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Presidential Media Team concluded the third day of an inspection tour of federal and Kogi State Government projects across the state.

Speaking during the tour in Gbede, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said residents were satisfied with the pace of development under both the Tinubu administration and Governor Usman Ododo’s government.

According to him, the people of Kogi would express their appreciation through the ballot in the 2027 elections.

Fanwo said President Tinubu’s economic reforms had increased resources available to state governments, enabling Kogi to execute major infrastructure and development projects.

Leading the delegation, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, said the projects inspected demonstrated that the Renewed Hope Agenda was delivering tangible results across the country.

He noted that the delegation visited a 15-kilometre asphalted internal road network with drainage and a newly constructed Primary Health Centre in Gbede, as well as the ongoing reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe–Omuaran–Ilorin Road by the Federal Government.

The team also inspected rural road projects in Okene, the Lokoja International Market under construction on a 16-hectare site, and the Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja.

Dare commended the Kogi State Government for its investments in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, security and human capital development, describing them as consistent with the Federal Government’s Eight-Point Agenda.

He said the extensive road projects being executed across the country reflected President Tinubu’s commitment to improving infrastructure and boosting economic growth.

According to him, the Federal Executive Council approved the reconstruction of the long-abandoned Kabba–Ilorin Road to enhance connectivity and facilitate the movement of people and goods.

Dare added that the administration had also revitalised more than 1,000 Primary Health Centres nationwide as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery.

He stressed that the Renewed Hope Agenda was making progress in key sectors, including health, education, infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, and oil and gas.

The delegation was received in Egbe by the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Tosin Olokun, and the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Joseph Oluwasegun, who both praised Governor Ododo for expanding development projects in the area and appointing indigenes into key government positions.

In Okene, the Commissioner for Works, Abdulsalami Deedat, conducted the team around newly constructed concrete-paved roads, bridges and erosion control projects, describing the infrastructure projects as evidence of the state’s commitment to grassroots development.

Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement, Fredrick Nwabufor, said the Federal Government’s emphasis on road construction and infrastructure development was aimed at stimulating economic activities and improving national productivity.

The inspection tour forms part of ongoing efforts by the Presidential Media Team and Renewed Hope Ambassadors to showcase infrastructure and development projects being implemented under the Tinubu administration across the country.
