Federal Fire Service Kebbi Hosts Bright Sprout Academy Pupils on Fire Safety Educational Excursion

Date:

The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Kebbi State Command, on Thursday hosted pupils and staff of Bright Sprout Academy on an educational excursion designed to expose students to the Service’s role in public safety and emergency response.

The visit, held at the Command Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, formed part of the school’s practical learning programme aimed at helping pupils understand the functions of key public institutions.

During the interactive session, officers of the Command educated the pupils on the core responsibilities of the Federal Fire Service, including fire prevention, firefighting, rescue operations, and public safety awareness.

The officers also provided practical fire safety tips, teaching the pupils how to respond during a fire outbreak, raise an alarm promptly, and follow basic evacuation procedures to minimise risks during emergencies.

A major highlight of the visit was a live demonstration by trained firefighters using the Rapid Intervention Vehicle (RIV).

The exercise gave the pupils firsthand experience of emergency response techniques and demonstrated the operational readiness of the Federal Fire Service in tackling fire emergencies.

Speaking during the event, the Kebbi State Command reaffirmed its commitment to sustained public education, particularly among young learners, noting that early awareness is critical to building a safety-conscious society and reducing fire-related incidents.
