FUDMA Vice Chancellor Disowns Presidential Campaign Poster
The Management of Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, has disowned a campaign poster in which the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mohammed Khalid Othman was “falsely and mischievously” depicted as contesting for President in the 2027 general elections.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the university’s Director of Information and Protocol, Nasir M. Abdul, disassociated the vice Chancellor from the publication.
The statement said Prof Othman and the management of the university have commenced investigation to unravel the source of the fake presidential campaign poster and take appropriate legal action against anyone found involved.
The statement reads in part, “For the avoidance of doubt, the Management wishes to disassociate itself completely from the mischief and antics of those who printed and are circulating the poster.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. M.K. Othman, has never indicated interest in participating in partisan politics, let alone contesting for the nation’s highest office, the Presidency.
“He has never told anyone, nor mandated anyone or group to print or circulate the said campaign poster. Members of the general public are hereby urged to ignore the antics of the mischief makers.
“The University Management, in the meantime, is taking appropriate steps to track these mischief makers and take all lawful measures to deal with them accordingly.”
