The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency in Taraba State, Alhaji Mukhtar Galadima, has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the establishment of the Nigerian Army’s 10 Division Headquarters in Taraba.
Galadima gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Jalingo on Thursday.
He described the development as a major step toward strengthening security operations and tackling insecurity in Taraba and Adamawa States.
According to him, the siting of the division’s headquarters in Taraba is timely and will improve military presence, intelligence gathering and rapid response to security threats in the region.
The PDP standard-bearer said security remains one of the cardinal objectives of his agenda for the people of Wukari and Ibi Federal Constituency, and pledged to support initiatives aimed at protecting lives and property.
“I must commend Mr. President for the reforms in the armed forces, especially the recent restructuring of the Nigerian Army.
“We are grateful for the establishment of the 10 Division headquarters in Taraba. This will go a long way in enhancing security operations and ensuring a safer Taraba,” he said.
He added that the new military formation would boost confidence among residents and create a more secure environment for socio-economic activities to thrive.
People’s Daily recalls that the Federal Government recently announced the establishment of the Nigerian Army’s 10 Division to strengthen military operations in Taraba and Adamawa states as part of efforts to improve national security.
