Kwankwaso best northern presidential aspirant, says Kano House Leader

The Majority Leader of the Kano State House of Assembly Alhaji Kabir Al-Hassan, at the weekend said Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso remains the best aspirant from the North for the 2015 APC presidential ticket.

Al-Hassan also said that Kwankwaso could fix Nigeria’s insurgency if elected as President in 2015.

Al-Hassan who represented the governor, made the statement at the official declaration of Kwankwaso’s 2015 presidential bid in Lagos.

The Majority Leader said that Kwankwaso was most suitable for the APC candidature because of his age.

“Kwankwaso is more suitable for the job than the other northern contenders for the APC slot.

“Kwankwanso’s age makes him more vibrant for the role of President considering the many tasks required of the office” he said.

He urged the APC to consider age and pedigree in choosing the candidate for the presidential race.

On terrorism, he said that, “Kwankwaso’s vast experience will make it easy for him to tackle terrorism and other challenges facing the nation.”

“Kwankwaso has been able to keep Kano as peaceful as possible as governor and his giant strides in the state are evidence of his capabilities” he said.

However in a message read on his behalf earlier by the Majority Leader who led the Northern delegates to the Lagos declaration, Kwankwaso said that if he could achieve what he did in Kano with limited resources he could do great with resources at the center.

“This is why I have come forward to contest the presidency in 2015 under the platform of the APC” Kwankwaso said.

Also speaking, Dr Ahmad Afolabi, the Lagos State Coordinator of the Rabiu Kwankwaso Campaign Organisation, said that Kwankwaso’s joining the race was not in a way to revenge on any Nigerian.

“He felt the need for a change in Nigeria and to replicate what he has done in Kano in Nigeria” Afolabi said.
