NTI Matriculates 1,250 Students in Sokoto, Urges Them to Embrace Discipline

 The National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) has matriculated 1,250 students into its various programmes at the Sokoto State Study Centre.
The matriculation ceremony, held in Sokoto at the weekend, had newly admitted students for NCE, National and Postgraduate Diplomas, as well as Virtual Degrees, among others.
Speaking at the event, the Centre Coordinator, Abubakar Ibrahim Musa, said the students were admitted to study NCE, National and Postgraduate Diplomas, as well as virtual Degrees, among other programmes offered by the institute.
He urged the new students to take their studies seriously and uphold the ethics of the teaching profession.
He added that NTI remains committed to producing qualified and professional teachers to drive quality education across the country.
Musa also charged the matriculants to be disciplined, dedicated, and make good use of the distance learning and virtual platforms provided by the institute.
The Director and Chief Executive of NTI, Prof. Sadiya Sani Daura, was represented by Dr. Armayau Malami Yabo.
Dr. Yabo commended the Sokoto State Government for its continued support to the centre and called on stakeholders to encourage more people to enroll in teacher training programmes.
Also speaking, the Sokoto State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Ladan Ala, reiterated the unwavering commitment of the state government to the training and retraining of teachers to keep them in tune with extant global trends in the teaching profession.
The Commissioner also applauded the relentless efforts of Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto to revamp the education sector in the state, saying that his invaluable moral and financial commitments in this direction are unmatched.
The high point of the ceremony was the administration of the matriculation oath on the 1,250 new students, with parents, guardians and well-wishers in attendance.
