Leading President Tinubu support group, The Bridge for Renewed Hope has dismissed recent criticisms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The group maintained that President Tinubu administration has demonstrated an unprecedented commitment to the welfare and well-being of Nigerians.
According to Hon. Rowland Odih, former Director-General of Atiku Youth Wing and currently Director-General of The Bridge for Renewed Hope; “President Tinubu’s Government is the first administration since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999 to implement bold and people-focused reforms aimed at addressing long-standing structural challenges that previous Governments like the Obasanjo-Atiku Government of 1999 to 2007 failed to confront.”
According to a media statement signed and made available to the press by the media office of The Bridge for Renewed Hope, Hon. Rowland further said that “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Government is the only administration since 1999 that has shown genuine courage and commitment to putting the interests of Nigerians first. Rather than postponing difficult decisions, President Tinubu has chosen to confront them head-on in order to build a stronger and more sustainable future for our country.”
He noted that “despite inheriting significant economic and security challenges from previous administrations and heavy Government financial liabilities originating from Atiku’s time as Vice President and head of Nigeria’s privatisation programme, the Tinubu administration has continued to roll out policies and programmes designed to improve infrastructure, strengthen national security, expand social investment, support agriculture, create jobs, and attract both local and foreign investments.”
Hon. Rowland stated that while every major reform comes with temporary difficulties, the administration has consistently introduced intervention programmes to cushion the impact on vulnerable Nigerians, demonstrating that the welfare of citizens remains central to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Reacting to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s comments, Hon. Rowland argued that Nigerians can clearly distinguish between constructive governance and political rhetoric.
“It is easy to criticise from the sidelines, but leadership is about making difficult decisions that secure the long-term future of the nation. President Tinubu has shown that he possesses the courage, vision and determination required to transform Nigeria,” Hon. Rowland further said.
He urged Nigerians not to be distracted by what he described as politically motivated attacks from opposition figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar whose care about Nigerians is due to their personal ambition which is the forthcoming 2027 elections.
“The achievements being recorded across critical sectors by President Tinubu speak louder than political propaganda. Nigerians should continue to support President Tinubu as he consolidates the gains of his reforms and delivers on the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Hon. Rowland added.
Hon. Rowland re-affirmed his confidence that President Tinubu’s performance in office which are overwhelmingly impressive will remain his strongest campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
He called on political leaders across party lines to place national interest above personal ambition and support President Tinubu’s efforts which are aimed at promoting unity, stability and sustainable development in Nigeria.
