Adeleke: Osun election will be peaceful, I will win

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun on Saturday expressed confidence that the ongoing governorship election in the state would be peaceful and that he would emerge victorious.

Adeleke spoke shortly after casting his vote at Sagba Agbogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor arrived at the polling unit at about 8:32 a.m., accompanied by a large number of supporters.

He was accredited by the Presiding Officer at the polling unit at about 8:35 a.m., before proceeding to cast his ballot.

Speaking shortly after voting, Adeleke expressed confidence in his chances of securing victory in the election.

He urged voters across the state to come out en masse to exercise their franchise and protect their votes until the completion of the electoral process.

According to him, the election provides the people of Osun with an opportunity to determine who governs the state for the next four years.

The governor appealed to voters to remain peaceful and law-abiding throughout the voting and collation processes.

He also urged voters to remain at their polling units and monitor the process in accordance with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Adeleke expressed optimism that the election would be peaceful, credible and reflective of the will of the people.
