FUDMA To Bid For 2030 NUGA Hosting Rights – VC
The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Prof. Mohamed Khalid Othman says the university will bid for the hosting rights of the 2030 Nigeria University Games (NUGA).
Prof Othman made this known while inaugurating the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and sub-committees for the Zone F NUGA Preliminary, coming up at the university in September and November.
“FUDMA is grateful for being given the hosting rights of the zonal events. The University is equally bidding for the main NUGA games by 2030. All the necessary preparations to secure the hosting right are being done,” he said.
The committees included the 10-man main LOC headed by the Director of Sports, Dr. Funke Abosede Olarinoye, and five sub-committees.
The Vice-Chancellor pledged to provide all the necessary facilities and amenities to facilitate the successful hosting of the preliminary games, including security, health care and overall wellbeing of the athletes and officials.
Nine Universities are expected to take part in the Zonal games namely, Umaru Musa Yaradu University (UMYU), Federal Univeristy Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Al-Qalam University, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Airforce Institute of Technology (AFIT), Federal University of Transportation, Daura, Federal University of Health Sciences, Kachia and Federal University of Education Zaria,
Members of the LOC are Prof. Ghazali Garba, Dr. Umar Mamman, Dr. Rabi Dalhat, Dr. Abdulmajeed Oyeniyan, Bashir Sani Kankia, Dr. Majeed Oyeniyan, Abubakar Gafai, Aliyu Wurma, and Dr. Eunice Jeje while Salisu Gambo will serve as Secretary.
The five Sub- committees to chaperone the games are those of Accommodation, Sporting Activities, Ceremonials, Technical and Logistics as well as Media, Publicity and Protocol.
