The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of prominent Niger State political figure, community leader, and philanthropist, Alhaji Ibrahim Wali, the Garkuwan Kontagora.
In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media, Rabiu Ibrahim, the Minister described the late Wali as a close associate, trusted friend, and distinguished son of Niger State, who dedicated his life to community progress and helping others.
Idris described Wali’s death as a deeply personal loss and a painful blow to the people of the Kontagora Emirate and Niger State.
He praised the late Garkuwan Kontagora for using his influence and resources to uplift the less privileged, support education, and drive local development.
The Minister remembered Wali as a man of dignity, warmth, and wise counsel who possessed a rare ability to unite people across different segments of society.
Minister Idris extended his heartfelt sympathies to the family of the deceased, Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Kontagora Emirate, government and people of Niger State.
He prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the late traditional leader’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds with Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
