The Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, His Grace Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, and former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, are among top Christian leaders in Jalingo for a three-day Ministers of the Gospel Conference.
The conference, organized by CAN Taraba State Chapter, began Tuesday, August 18 and will end Thursday, August 20, 2026.
This was contained in a statement issued in Jalingo, and signed by the State CAN Chairman, Very Rev. Fr. Williams Awoshiri, and Secretary, Rev. Dr. Nelson Duna.
According to the statement, the conference is holding at the State CAN Secretariat along FGGC Road, Jalingo, daily from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
It adds: “The theme is, “The Roles of the Church and the State in Advancing God’s Purpose in a Changing World.”
The statement named Governor Agbu Kefas as Special Guest of Honour, while Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor will serve as Guest Speaker.
Other speakers include former Governor Donald Duke; former CAN Vice President, Rev. Dr. Caleb Ahima; Anglican Archbishop of Jos Province, Archbishop Benjamin Kwashi; and Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama.
It noted that about 850 ministers drawn from the 16 local government areas and two special development areas of the state are attending.
The conference, it added, is aimed at fellowship, reflection, dialogue, and capacity building on the role of the Church and State in advancing God’s purpose in a changing world.
The statement further announced that the grand finale will hold on Friday, August 21, 2026, with the launch of N10 billion for the construction of an Ultra-Modern Christian Centre in Jalingo.
The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, will serve as Chairman of the occasion. Chief Niyi Adekoya is Chief Launcher, while Chief Ayo Otuyalo is Deputy Chief Launcher.
