Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has called Fityanul Islam First Aid Group a vital partner in promoting peaceful coexistence and humanitarian efforts across Nigeria.
During the group’s national seminar and award ceremony in Kaduna on Sunday, the governor stated that collaboration between the Aid Group members and security agencies has helped strengthen peace and stability in the nation.
He pointed out that members of the First Aid Group often serve as the first responders during natural disasters, accidents, and fires, performing these selfless duties without pay.
“Only Allah (SWT) can adequately reward you for your service to humanity,” Governor Uba Sani said.
The governor also emphasized the group’s role in supporting religious activities, especially the annual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. He mentioned that members of Fityanul Islam ensure a smooth experience from the Hajj camp to the airport and in the Holy Land. He further added that they help the elderly and the physically challenged during Friday prayers.
Highlighting the significance he places on the group, Governor Uba Sani revealed that he cut short a trip to Asaba, Delta State, to attend the seminar.
“I am here just to show you that we have been observing all the good deeds you do and to express our gratitude. God will reward you abundantly for all your good deeds,” he said.
He mentioned that over 2,000 members of the Aid Group participated in the seminar and assured them of government support.
“Government is 100% with you,” the governor declared, promising to provide all necessary support to help the group continue promoting peaceful coexistence across Nigeria.
Governor Uba Sani stated that Kaduna, as the capital of Northern Nigeria, can only return to its former glory through peace, and he pledged that his administration will ensure every citizen’s rights under the law are protected.
“When we were elected, I swore on the Qur’an that I would be fair to all the people in Kaduna State. Being fair to everyone is what fosters peace,” he stated.
“Our religion teaches us that even animals deserve fair treatment. Therefore, every human being, regardless of status, deserves justice and fairness.”
He promised to treat Muslims and Christians equally, along with all sects within those religions in the state.
As a gesture of support, the governor personally donated two buses to the national headquarters of Fityanul Islam Aid Group and a bus plus two vehicles to the Kaduna State chapter. He also contributed N50 million towards transportation costs for participants at the seminar.
Earlier, Sheikh Rabiu Abdullahi Zaria, Kaduna State Chairman of Fityanul Islam, described Governor Uba Sani as a fair-minded leader who has consistently supported religious activities.
“We have nothing but prayers for him. He has supported us and shown us love and concern throughout all our activities. Time will not permit me to list all he has done for us, even before he became a senator and now that he is governor,” Sheikh Rabiu said.
He added that the national seminar, organized with the governor’s support, was designed to enhance the skills of selected Aid Group members, whose membership he estimated at over one million.
He pledged the group’s prayers and support for the governor.
“Although Fityanul Islam is a religious organization and not a political group, it is nonetheless 100% behind Governor Uba Sani,” he said.
“The Prophet (SAW) said that anyone who has done good to you, pray for him if you can’t reciprocate. We have something to repay the governor with, and the time is around the corner. We are also praying for you.”
Sheikh Rabiu concluded: “By the Grace of God, you will complete your first term and be re-elected for a second term.”
