Anambra FA unveils new kits as Agha Mba Visits Intermediate Teams

The Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) has unveiled new playing kits for its Intermediate Team as the state intensifies efforts to strengthen grassroots football and nurture the next generation of football stars.

The unveiling took place during a visit by the Anambra State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, to the U-17, U-18 and U-19 Intermediate teams at their training camp in Enugwu-Ukwu.

Agha Mba, accompanied by officials of the Anambra State Football Association led by its Chairman, Gen. Chikelue Iloenyosi, interacted with the young players, encouraging them to remain disciplined, focused and committed to their development.

The Commissioner described the players as an important part of Anambra’s football future, stressing that the state government would continue to create an environment where young talents can discover, develop and maximise their potential.

“These young boys and girls represent the future of football in Anambra State. Our responsibility is not only to identify talent, but to provide the right environment, support and opportunities for them to grow into professional footballers,” Agha Mba said.

He added that the unveiling of the new kits was a reflection of the state government’s commitment to professionalism and pride among its young athletes.

“When our young players put on these jerseys, they are not just wearing a kit; they are carrying the identity and aspirations of Anambra. We want them to wear these colours with pride and understand that they are ambassadors of our state,” he said.

ANSFA Chairman, Gen. Chikelue Iloenyosi, said the initiative demonstrated the association’s renewed commitment to grassroots development, describing the Commissioner’s visit as a major boost to the players ahead of their upcoming competitions.

The new jerseys, according to ANSFA, symbolise professionalism, identity, unity and a renewed determination to build a stronger football ecosystem across the state.

Iloenyosi expressed appreciation to Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo for his continued support for sports development, while also commending Commissioner Agha Mba for his commitment and hands-on approach to developing sports in Anambra.

The association said it would continue to work closely with the state government to provide greater opportunities for young footballers, with the ultimate goal of producing talents capable of representing Anambra and Nigeria at the highest level.

With the Intermediate teams now equipped with new kits and strengthened by the visit of the Commissioner, the message from Enugwu-Ukwu is clear: Anambra’s grassroots football is rising, and the future is being built from the ground up.
