Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Dr. Boss Mustapha, has officially handover a library complex he built and donated to the Lutheran University Nigeria (LUN) to mark his 70th birthday.
Named the Wesley Mustapha Library Complex in honor of the former SGF’s late father, a dedicated schoolteacher, the facility was officially dedicated by the Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), Most Revd Musa Panti Filibus.
Addressing young people at the event, Mustapha emphasized that origins should serve as motivation rather than a barrier to achievement.
He urged the youth not to let humble beginnings limit their potential, describing his own life journey as proof that determination can overcome any background.
“I want my life to be a template for the younger generation. If the son of a classroom teacher can make it, then you can make it.
“Do not allow your background to define your life; use it as a stepping stone. My decision to undertake this project is borne out of the need to better the lives of the generation coming after us,” Mustapha stated.
One of the dignitaries at the event, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, Commended Mustapha for choosing to invest in public education and institutional growth over personal luxury to mark his 70th milestone.
Similarly, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, of Adamawa State, described the library complex as a vital monument of knowledge that will serve generations of scholars across the state and country.
Not left out, Most Revd. Musa Panti Filibus, Archbishop of LCCN, expressed gratitude to the former SGF, noting that the donation represents an enduring contribution to tertiary education in the region.
