How Apostle Kure’s Institutions Are Advancing Development in Southern Kaduna – Rev. Mutum

The institutions founded by Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure through Throneroom Trust Ministry have become key drivers of social and economic development in Southern Kaduna, Reverend Gideon Mutum has said.

In a statement signed by Rev. Mutum and made available to journalists in Kaduna, he explained that for more than 30 years, Apostle Kure’s work has extended beyond preaching to include the establishment of institutions that serve thousands of people across the region.

He stated that since the founding of Throneroom Trust Ministry in 1991, the ministry has expanded into a network of hospitals, schools, a radio station, a nursing college, hospitality facilities and empowerment programmes that benefit people regardless of their faith or background.

“To tell the story of Apostle Kure is to tell the story of a man whose burden was not just to preach to a people, but to build with them,” Rev. Mutum said.

He pointed out that the location of these institutions in Kafanchan is significant because the city lacks the level of economic infrastructure found in Lagos, Abuja or Jos. Nevertheless, through Throneroom’s programmes and gatherings, thousands of Nigerians and international visitors now travel to Southern Kaduna each year.

“Every visitor who comes spends on lodging, food, transportation and goods, and leaves with a new impression of Southern Kaduna. In development terms, it is a visitor economy. Practically, it has put Kafanchan on the national Christian map,” he explained.

Rev. Mutum said the ministry’s impact includes Salem Hospital, which provides healthcare services regardless of denomination; Salama Radio, which broadcasts to audiences across tribes and faiths; and the Throneroom College of Nursing Sciences, whose Board of Trustees was inaugurated in March 2026 to produce world-class nurses for Southern Kaduna and beyond.

“A hospital treats every patient. A school teaches every child. A trained nurse serves every community. The pulpit remains central, but the ward, the classroom, the studio and the marketplace are also mission fields,” he added.

The cleric also emphasised the ministry’s role in creating spaces that attract visitors and stimulate economic activities. Through facilities such as Salem Guest House and major conferences, Throneroom has hosted presidents, governors and national Christian leaders, thereby boosting the visibility of Kafanchan and contributing to economic activities in the area.

He further noted that the proposed 16-storey tower project symbolises the belief that Southern Kaduna deserves ambitious development projects.

“Development begins in the imagination before it appears in brick and mortar,” he said.

Beyond infrastructure, Rev. Mutum stated that Apostle Kure has used his voice to address issues of peace, security, justice and regional development through his leadership in the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association.

“A region needs buildings, but it also needs voices that speak for the voiceless,” he emphasised.

He linked Apostle Kure’s efforts to a broader tradition of faith-based institution-building in Southern Kaduna, citing the late Bishop Joseph Danlami Bagobiri and the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, which established schools and the St. Louis School of Midwifery.

“It would be wrong to pit these two traditions against each other. One was built through the Catholic institutional structure, the other through an apostolic and Pentecostal framework. Both proved that faith can leave constructive institutions behind,” he said.

Rev. Mutum also highlighted the ministry’s investment in human development through support for youth empowerment, start-ups and skills training, stressing that true development should be measured not only by physical infrastructure but also by the lives transformed.

He called for proper documentation of the work of faith-based institutions and urged other denominations and organisations to adopt similar development models.

“Government provides policy and infrastructure. Business provides jobs. The Church can provide moral formation, education, healthcare and social capital. When these forces align, communities become stronger,” he said.

In conclusion, Rev. Mutum said Southern Kaduna needs more people and organisations committed to building schools, hospitals, industries and technology hubs.

“The greatest tribute to a builder is not applause. It is construction,” he concluded.
