The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Princewill Chukwuneye Onwumere, has formally unveiled his election manifesto, promising a era anchored on inclusive development, effective representation, and shared prosperity.
Tagged “The People’s Manifesto,” the policy document outlines a 10-point agenda designed to tackle long-standing issues facing the constituency, including rural road decay, youth unemployment, poor healthcare facilities, and declining educational standards.
Unveiling the document under the slogan “Olu Anyi bu Ike Anyi” (Our Work is Our Strength), Hon. Onwumere stated that his candidacy offers purposeful leadership driven by integrity, competence, and a commitment to democratic service.
“Our constituency is blessed with hardworking farmers, traders, artisans, youths, women, and elders.
“Yet, many of our communities continue to face severe developmental challenges. The time has come for leadership that listens, serves, and delivers tangible results,” Onwumere said.
Hon. Onwumere’s manifesto prioritizes core areas intended to uplift rural communities across all wards.
“Accessible Representation: Establishing a functional constituency office and holding regular town hall meetings to ensure direct communication with constituents.
“Agricultural Development: Providing improved seedlings, farm inputs, agricultural loans, agro-processing facilities, and enhanced market access for local farmers.
“Youth & Women Empowerment: Establishing vocational and ICT training centres, apprenticeship schemes, and interest-free or low-interest business support for women entrepreneurs.
“Infrastructure & Security: Advocating for the rehabilitation of rural roads, clean water projects, electricity restoration, and supporting community policing initiatives.
“Social Services: Upgrading primary healthcare centres, expanding maternal and child care, and providing scholarships, bursaries, and improved school facilities,” he stated .
Hon. Onwumere pointed to his past track record as a local Councillor as evidence of his readiness for higher legislative duties.
He pledged that if elected to the State Assembly, his legislative focus would center on sponsoring laws that promote local economic development, protect vulnerable groups, and enforce transparent governance.
“Our records are visible, and our impacts are verifiable.
“This election presents an opportunity to choose hope over despair, service over self-interest, and progress over stagnation,” he noted.
