The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has committed N6 billion toward establishing state-of-the-art Zonal ICT Centres across Nigeria, coinciding with the inauguration of a new ICT facility at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
Speaking at the event, the First Lady highlighted the critical role of digital technology in driving national growth and youth empowerment.
She emphasized that access to modern ICT infrastructure is essential for equipping students with market-relevant skills, fostering innovation, and positioning Nigerian graduates to compete in a global economy.
TETFund officials noted that the N6 billion investment aims to bridge the digital divide across higher education institutions by establishing high-capacity ICT hubs in every geopolitical zone.
The newly commissioned centre at Federal Polytechnic, Oko, will serve as a regional hub for digital literacy, research, and technical training, giving students and faculty access to advanced computing tools and reliable internet infrastructure.
