Katsina ADC organises special prayers ahead of campaigns

The Katsina State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), over the weekend organised special prayers invoking God’s mercy and protection on Nigeria and the citizens.

The prayer session was organised by the party’s State House of Assembly Aspirants and Candidates Forum and was held at the Sen. Kaita’s Gubernatorial Campaign Office in Katsina.

In his remarks, Chairman of the forum, Hon. Abdurrazak Kaita said that the forum invited Islamic scholars versed in  Holy Qur’an memorisation to conduct the prayers.

He said that the prayers were for Allah’s intervention in ending the shared concerns of the current multi-sectoral suffering facing Nigerians.

The Chairman of the forum also said the scholars were expected to read the Holy Book from beginning to end with the intention of calling on Allah to come to the aid of the citizens and the nation.

Kaita said the Qur’anic recitations started in the early hours of Saturday and lasted till around 5:30pm when many other citizens from all walks of life and cutting across all political party lines joined in the prayers.

He disclosed that prayers were particularly held against corruption, armed banditry and all those behind them, kidnapping, poverty and bad leaders and leadership throughout the country.

In his remarks, Spokesman to Sen Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial candidate campaign council, Abubakar Ahmed appreciated the concern and initiative of the organizers and prayed Allah to accept the calls as well as grant lasting solution to the hardship faced by Nigerians.

Ahmed revealed that his principal who has now recovered from his illness after undergoing a surgery abroad, is now expected back in Nigeria to fully carryout his political activities ahead of the upcoming 2027 polls.

The special prayers were also offered for the success of the ADC Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the quick recovery, safe return and victory of the Katsina State ADC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita and success of all ADC candidates vying for elective positions in the 2027 general elections throughout the country.
