Yvonne Okeke’s Appointment Highlights Inclusion in Uba Sani’s Kaduna Administration

The appointment of Miss Yvonne Okeke, an indigene of Anambra State, as Personal Assistant to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has drawn attention to the inclusion of professionals from different parts of Nigeria in the state administration.

Okeke, who hails from Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, currently serves in the Office of the Governor, providing executive and administrative support. Her professional relationship with Sani predates his emergence as governor, having previously worked with him as an Executive Assistant and Legislative Aide during his tenure in the National Assembly.

Governor Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 9th Senate before assuming office as governor in 2023, heads an administration that has made a number of appointments across different areas of government.

Okeke’s appointment has been presented by supporters of the administration as an example of an approach that gives consideration to professional competence and capacity alongside geographical representation.

Who is Yvonne Okeke?

Born on March 20, 1989, in Lagos State, Okeke is a public-sector administrator with experience in executive support, legislative administration and government operations.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in English from the University of Lagos and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nicosia. Her educational background combines communication skills with training in business administration and management.

Okeke began working with Sani as an Executive Assistant, providing administrative and executive support. She subsequently served as his Legislative Aide (Secretary) when he represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

Following Sani’s assumption of office as Kaduna State Governor, she joined the state government as his Personal Assistant. Her responsibilities include supporting the coordination of official engagements, communications and administrative activities within the Governor’s Office.

Humanitarian and Creative Interests

Beyond public administration, Okeke has been involved in humanitarian initiatives, including visits to orphanages, distribution of relief materials and assistance to families facing medical expenses.

She has also ventured into Nigeria’s creative industry through Yvonne Naydo Productions, a film production outfit focused on storytelling and creative content development.

With experience spanning executive support, legislative administration and government operations, Okeke has built a professional profile covering public service, communications and administration.
