Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has declared that the state is moving forward with renewed purpose as it celebrates the 39th anniversary of its creation, citing ongoing achievements across critical sectors as a solid foundation for a secure and prosperous future.
In an official press statement from Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, and issued on Wednesday to mark the milestone, Governor Radda extended his warm congratulations to citizens at home and in the diaspora, describing the anniversary as a tribute to the resilience, sacrifices, and collective contributions of generations of Katsina indigenes.
“At 39, Katsina is moving forward with purpose. We celebrate how far we have come, but we are even more determined about where we are going.
“Our responsibility is to build on the sacrifices of those before us and create a state that offers greater opportunities for the generations coming after us,” Governor Radda said.
The Governor noted that his administration’s Building Your Future agenda remains focused on delivering tangible progress across all 34 local government areas. Key priorities include targeted investments in security, healthcare, education, agriculture, road infrastructure, public sector reforms, and economic empowerment for women and youth.
Addressing ongoing security concerns in parts of the state, Governor Radda reassured residents that his administration will maintain close collaboration with security agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders to protect lives, safeguard property, and restore lasting peace.
He stressed that achieving the vision of a competitive and self-reliant state requires collective effort beyond government action alone, urging traditional and religious leaders, business owners, professionals, and youth to actively support state initiatives.
Paying tribute to past leaders, public servants, and security personnel whose contributions shaped the state since its creation in 1987, Governor Radda reaffirmed his commitment to completing ongoing infrastructure projects and strengthening public institutions.
“As we celebrate 39 years of our dear state, our message is one of gratitude for the journey behind us and confidence in the future before us.
“We have made progress, but there is still more work to be done,” the Governor stated.
