Yobe LG Poll: Deputy Governor Commends SIEC, Voter Turnout

The Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, has commended the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the local government elections across the state.
Gubana made the commendation on Saturday after casting his vote at Polling Unit 008, Gubana Primary School, Dogon Kuka Ward, Fune Local Government Area.
He also expressed satisfaction with the voter turnout, describing the level of participation by residents across the local government area as encouraging.
The Deputy Governor said the turnout demonstrated that democracy had become firmly established and was widely accepted as the preferred form of government.
He added that voter education and sensitisation across the state would receive greater attention to strengthen the democratic process and encourage broader participation in future elections.
“It is an indication that democracy has come to stay and is accepted as the best form of government,” he said.
