APC adopts rainbow coalition as Soludo, Wike, Adeleke make 1528-member presidential campaign list

The All Progressives Congress (APC) may have adopted the rainbow coalition created by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike with the inclusion of Governors Chukwuma Soludo and Ademola Adeleke of Anambra and Osun states in the recently reconstituted Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the party.

Also included in the APC PCC list are, a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Nyesom Wike, social commentator, Segun Sowunmi who has of late been very critical of the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi. Sowunmi also claims to be a member of the PDP.

Similarly, another chieftain of the PDP and former governor of Gombe state, Sen. Ibrahim Dankwambo was also included in the long list of 1528 members.

While Wike will function as the Campaign coordinator in Rivers state the the FCT, Governors Soludo and Adeleke will coordinate the campaign in Anambra Osun states respectively. Sowunmi will serve in the media communications department.

Sen. Dankwambo is listed as one of the Campaign Council Advisers alongside Obafemi George, who will also advise on media.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu will function as Deputy DG South II, while the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule is the South-South Deputy Coordinator for State Assemblies mobilisation, just as the Minister of Works, Sen. David Umahi has been included as Deputy DG Infrastructure and Sensitization.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta state is now the Director of Finance, while Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state and Chairman of the Nigeria Inland Revenue Service (NRS), Zacch Adedeji will coordinate the fundraising.

Another notable inclusion on the list is the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo. Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin and the media aide of the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka have been included in the list for media communications.

Former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo has also been named Deputy Director for Sports Sector mobilisation, while Ayiri Emami has been named Director for Special Duties.

Former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state was named Director for Stakeholder Mobilisation, while former Lagos governor, Babatunde Fashola was named as the South Weat Zonal Coordinator for Stakeholders’ Mobilisation.

Senator Abdulaziz Yari will continue to lead as Director-General of the re-election campaign, while Senator Adams Oshiomhole will now serve as the Deputy Director-General in charge of Mobilisation, with the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila serving as Deputy Director-General for Administration.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state will continue to serve as Secretary of the Campaign Council, while the APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman will serve as Deputy and Assistant Secretaries.

Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake will also continue his role as spokesman for the Campaign Council, while Hon. James Faleke serves as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination, and Monitoring.

However, one conspicuous omission is while the other governors in the APC controlled states were named as coordinators in their respective states, Governor Sim Fubara of of Rivers state who was not listed as the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike was given the responsibility of coordinating both Rivers and the FCT.

The APC PCC is to be formally inaugurated on Wednesday by President Bola Tinubu.
