Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, insisting that the President needs more time to implement his reforms ahead of the 2027 general election.
Adeleke said four years would not be enough for Tinubu’s policies to deliver the desired results, urging Nigerians to support the President for a second term.
The governor, who belongs to the Accord Party, spoke on Wednesday at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
“I’m here to throw my weight,” Adeleke said, declaring his readiness to participate in Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
“We must give our father, the President of this nation, time for his reform to work. It’s not easy. Four years is not enough,” he added.
The governor expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances, declaring that efforts to secure the President’s return to the Presidential Villa would not be stopped.
“Nobody can stop this movement,” Adeleke said.
“We’re going to sing, we’re going to dance all the way back to Aso Rock,” he added.
Adeleke urged supporters to intensify mobilisation ahead of the election, saying the campaign had already begun and that there was little time to waste.
“We don’t have time. The work has begun. I’ve already started mine,” he said.
He also called on Nigerians to continue praying for Tinubu, arguing that the President’s success would benefit the country.
“Continue praying for Mr President. If he succeeds, we all succeed. And I know by the special grace of God, we shall get there,” Adeleke said.
The governor’s declaration places him among the political figures backing Tinubu’s second-term ambition, despite his membership of the Accord Party rather than the ruling APC.
