2027: DLA begins campaign, says it is ready for power

Date:

The National Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Alliance, Samuel Memeh, has declared that the party is ready to take over power in 2027, claiming that Nigerians are dissatisfied with the current administration.

Memeh stated this on Thursday in Abuja while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the party’s campaign flag-off programme, where the DLA also issued certificates of return to its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said the party was offering Nigerians a new political direction, urging them to rally behind its platform to take over the country’s leadership.

“We are coming in with a new narrative, and, of course, if you go to every part of this country, you see that Nigerians are already agitating.

“We have provided a reputable platform for Nigerians to rally around the system. Let’s take over the mantle of leadership in this country, and we are fully ready,” he said.

The DLA chairman said the party had completed its nomination processes for candidates contesting the presidential, governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and state House of Assembly elections.

He described the party as unique, claiming that it was the only political party to emerge successfully from 171 applications reviewed by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Memeh also highlighted the age of the party’s presidential candidate, Musa Debisi, 36, describing the DLA as a youth-driven political platform focused on programmes and development.

“This is the first ideologically rated political party, and we equally have the youngest presidential candidate in our party, in the person of Musa Debisi, at the age of 36 years,” he said.

He added that the party was undertaking programmes beyond electoral politics, including training Nigerians, equipping citizens and organising science-related initiatives for young people across the country.

On the forthcoming elections, Memeh said the party would take its campaign message to communities across the country, insisting that Nigerians were ready for a change of government.

“Nigerians are fed up. Nigerians know that it is time and the game is over for the current rulership in this country,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to support the party, warning against the possibility of the current administration continuing beyond 2027.

“You can imagine how it is to continue with this administration beyond 2027. I can’t even imagine how life would be,” he added.

Memeh called on voters to look beyond immediate material benefits when making electoral decisions, urging them to consider the country’s long-term future.

“The message to the electorate is very clear. Nigerians must think beyond a pot of food or a plate of food right now.

“We must look beyond where we are right now. We must look at the future of our country, beyond the political arrangement that we used to have, where politicians can easily come in, manipulate the system and deceive the people,” he said.
