The Kaduna State House of Assembly on Thursday passed the third Supplementary Appropriation Bill (2014) of N3.4 billion into law. The Speaker, Alhaji Shehu Tahir, said N960 million would be spent on the recurrent expenditure while N2.2 billion would go to capital vexpenditure. The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf, later told newsmen that the bill was important. Yusuf said the budget was divided into three sectors – recurrent, capital and the social, adding that about N200 million was meant for
the purchase of equipment for the prevention of Ebola Virus in the state.
He said as soon as the budget was signed by the governor, the House Committee on Finance would embark on oversight functions to monitor the implementation of the bill.(NAN/Punch)
