The payment is expected to provide financial relief to beneficiaries who have waited for the settlement of pension and severance entitlements linked to their service with the former national airline.

The ministry described the disbursement as further progress in addressing longstanding obligations to eligible former Nigeria Airways workers and their families.

The exercise is aimed at establishing eligibility and confirming claims against approved records to facilitate the settlement of outstanding benefits.

The ministry said it would continue to process verified claims in line with applicable procedures to ensure that payments were made to eligible beneficiaries.
