With the double heading clashes against the Sudanese national team fast approaching, a former Super Eagles striker, Victor Agali has stated that the current quarrel between Villarreal of Spain striker, Ike Uche and interim Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi must be settled for Nigeria to qualify for the 2015 AFCON in Morocco.
The former Olympic Marseille of France player stated that he faced a similar situation during his playing days and advised the gladiators to quickly resolve their differences in the interest of the country. “This is something that shouldn’t happen; it happened with me as well during my time with the national team where we have coaches falling out with players but it’s not about IK Uche, it’s not about Keshi but about this country’s image when it comes to the football stage” he said.
Agali who also had stints with Hansa Rostock and Schalke 04 both German clubs added that “I just want to plead to those involved; Keshi and Uche, please just settle this rift. It’s all about restoring our image.”
