ABUJA, Nigeria – With nine days to the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), Chairperson of the Visa, Airport Reception and Protocol Committee, Zulaiha Babagirei-Ahmad, says visa processing for visitors expected at the continental women’s golf championship has been smooth so far, as preparations intensify to welcome participating countries to Nigeria.

Babagirei-Ahmad expressed confidence in the arrangements being coordinated by her committee, noting that efforts are focused on ensuring a seamless experience for golfers, team officials and other delegates arriving for the championship.

She said the committee was also ready to receive visitors warmly and provide an experience that would make their stay in Nigeria memorable, reflecting the country’s hospitality and the spirit of African unity that the tournament represents.

With about 30 African countries expected to participate, the committee is working to coordinate visa-related arrangements, airport reception and protocol services in collaboration with relevant agencies and stakeholders.

Babagirei-Ahmad said the goal was not only to facilitate visitors’ arrival but also to ensure they feel welcome from the moment they arrive, with appropriate reception and support throughout the process.

The championship, she noted, presents an opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its hospitality while strengthening relationships among African nations through sport.

The 2026 edition will mark the third time Nigeria has hosted the All Africa Challenge Trophy, following the 1996 championship at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos and the 2010 edition at the IBB International Golf & Country Club in Abuja.
