2027: Tinubu banks on faith in God, performance in office – Yari

Ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general elections, the Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Sen. Abdulaziz Yari at the weekend declared that the incumbent, President Bola Tinubu is banking in his faith in God and his sterling performance in office for his reelection.

Yari, a former governor of Zamfara state has said he believes that Nigerians would be convinced to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a fresh mandate in next January Presidential election, because he has done well.

The APC- PCC boss who is currently in Mecca, Saudi Arabia with President Tinubu for the Muslim lesser Haji, Umrah, reaffirmed the commitment of the party stakeholders to secure the support of the Nigerian voters for Tinubu’s second term aspiration.

It was revealed that President Tinubu at a media chat in Saudi Arabia on Friday said he was in the religious mission because of his enormous faith in God, whom he is banking on to be re-elected as President.

“I believe that Allah’s wish in His court must prevail. And there’s no other God but Allah.

“Allah is the only one who can define a human being, what he will be, and what he will become,” Tinubu had declared.

Similarly, speaking with newsmen at the weekend, Yari argued that President Tinubu’s faith in God, his records of performance and the capacity of the campaign organizations to win the confidence of the electorate would swing the tide to Tinubu’s favour and also secure his victory.

“That’s what makes a leader, because when you ask him, he first prayed for the country, prayed for every Nigerian and also he says this election is an election that God has selected the person who will be a leader and only Him that can put a leader or otherwise. So in total, I depends on Allah to do it for him as he did it for him in 2023.

“By that, Allah says we should welcome and work that all the procedure we are doing to campaign, to talk to people, to convince them, to show them what we have done, what we have achieved and by God’s grace, people will be convinced to elect us”, Yari concluded.

The election is expected to be a three horse race among President Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi and the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar.
