… as Akinjide tasks citizens on patriotism, unity

The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Oloye Jumoke Akinjide has urged Nigerians to be patriotic and work towards greater national unity, as the nation marks her 54th Independence anniversary.

She stressed the need for all to rededicate themselves to making the country great by being more patriotic and good citizens, as “Nigeria is the only country we can call our home land, let us make it great.”

She added that the country was on the right path to greatness under the transformational administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, urging Nigerians to support the first citizen.

In a statement signed by her media aide, Ayodeji Adeyemi, the minister called on Nigerians to be proud of their father land.

Akinjide pleaded with Nigerians to always put first the popular quote which appeals to people not to think of what their nations can do for them, but what they can do for their nation.

“We have no other country than Nigerian; we must join our hands with the president’s to move this country forward.

“I urge all Nigerians to support the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan, which will fast track our development, yielding gains for every Nigerian irrespective of tribes and political persuasions.

Also, the minister was confident that with sufficient citizens’ support, the nation armed forces would overcome the terrorists that don’t wish the nation any good.
