Hajj-saudi-arabia-nigeria-story-topTwo Zamfara state female pilgrims (names withheld) at the weekend, delivered in Makkah, where they performed this year’s hajj exercise.

Peoples Daily leant that the babies and their mothers are in good health condition.

It was gathered that the two female pilgrims may have skipped medical screening to come to the holy land with nine months pregnancy which is against the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON)’s policy.

Peoples Daily investigation showed that one of the women is related to a serving commissioner in the state while the other is related to a business tycoon in Gusau town.

Commenting on the issue while speaking with newsmen shortly after Juma’at prayer at Ka’abah Mosque in Makkah, NAHCON Head of Media, Alhaji Uba Mana said the state no doubt, will be sanctioned for allowing the pregnant women to come to Saudi Arabia under their condition.

According to him, for each of the birth, the state will lose14 hajj seats next year which means the state will lose 24 seats out of the total hajj seats to be allocated to them next year.

Alhaji Uba Mana also denied the speculation among Nigerian pilgrims that 8 Sokoto female pilgrims were killed by a Lift Service at their hotels, describing the rumour as baseless. According to him, no Nigerian pilgrim was killed in a lift system as far as the commission is concerned.

On the number of Nigerian pilgrims that died during the hajj exercise, he said over 20 pilgrims died and all have been buried according to Islamic rites.
