Power: Dagogo out, Oke in as acting Chairman PTFP

In a bid to join the Rivers State gubernatorial race, the

Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Power (PTFP), Engr. Beks Dagogo-Jack has resigned his appointment.

As a result, a senior officer of the Team, Engr. Clement Oke has been appointed to act in that capacity.

Addressing newsmen at the PTFP headquarters in Abuja, Dagogo-Jack said he is leaving the task force ‘on a high note to join the race for the governorship of Rivers State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The new acting Chairman, Engr. Oke has over 35 years experience in the oil and gas sector, with his team facilitating interaction between the NNPC Gas and Power Directorate Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria (GACN) and gas supply companies to collate and analyse data.

He also worked to identify lapses in gas supply to power with the current review of domestic gas price to $2.50 to attract more gas supply to electricity Generation companies (Gencos).

Oke was the head of the Fuel-to-Power team charged with monitoring and facilitating gas producers and transmission companies in the developing and supplying of natural gas and alternative fuel for the power sector.
