The federal government has explained why the Chibok girls are yet to be released after their six months in the den of the Boko Haram terrorists. This, it says, is because the negotiations are still on-going.

Ambassador Aminu Wali mentioned this to newsmen and assured them that the FG is still optimistic of a fruitful outcome of the peace deal brokered by Idriss Derby, the Chadian President.

He said this while receiving the Foreign Minister of France and Germany, Mr. Laurent Fabius and Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Abuja. He also disclosed that the current spate of abductions may have ben executed by a faction of the Boko Haram sect.
