Ojuola has decamped to the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) from the minority All Progressive Congress (APC).

Ojuola, who announced his defection back o the ruling party on the floor of the house at Plenary

yesterday, said the decision was informed by the “Dictates of my people who had been voting for me tumultuously in the past years.”

The legislator noted that in the current political tempo in the country, any politician worth his salt should not tinker with the wishes and demands of his people as “decisions are solely made possible from the whims and caprices of the people we represent.

“Those electorate are my fulcrum; I cannot deviate from their wishes and demands if I wish to maintain my future political career successfully.

“In consonant with the constitutional and electoral law requirements and especially the wishes, aspirations and demands of my good people, the electorate of Yagba-East constituency, I hereby unconditionally, formally announce my membership of the PDP.

Ojuola said the PDP was his original platform and entry point into partisan politics saying that he understood the party very well and hoped to give his constituency better representation on its platform.

Commending the move by the legislator, Deputy Speaker of the house, Mr Emmanuel Omebije described the day as a great one for the PDP in the state and assured Ojuola that he would not regret the decision.

Majority Leader, Alhaji Yakubu Yunusa congratulated the house on the move by the two-time member saying he had nothing to worry about.

Speaker, Alhaji Momoh-Jimoh Lawal described the decision as a wise one, good for PDP and the house considering the “Vibrancy and resourcefulness” of the returnee as he urged other members in the opposition party to borrow a leaf from Ojuola.
