The rank of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in Katsina State has swelled with Abubakar Ismaila Isa Funtua picking up the expression of interest and nomination forms.
This brings to seven the number seeking to clinch the party’s ticket for the 2015 general election in the state.
The others are former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu BEllo Masari, Dr Usman Bugaji,also a former federal lawmaker, Senator Sadiq Yar’adua, Senator Kanti Bello among others.
Funtua is taking a shot at the governorship for the second time. In 2011 he sought the office on the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) which ended in court. An Accountant by training, Funtua is expected to bring fresh perspectives to governance and a generational change if elected.
