One of the governorship aspirants in Nasarawa state, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Solomon Ewuga, has denied the reports that he was planning to defect to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), pointing out that he is always a winner in all his political contests.

He described those making false allegations about his purported defection to APGA as mischief-makers, whose stock in trade is cheap deception and gallery politics, associated with blackmails and political jobbers who have never stood any elections.

Senator Ewuga who spoke with newsmen in Lafia through his spokesman, Jonathan Ipaa, described the allegation of the alleged defection as the handiwork of those who will lose from the outcome of delegate congresses that just took place.

“Let it be restated that I collected my PDP gubernatorial nomination forms and duly returned same on 7th November, this very mindless publication appeared on the social media network of Facebook” he stated.

He added “If anything, these faceless opponents are afraid of my intimidating democratic credentials of more than three decades, in which some of them are beneficiaries”.

Ewuga also added that he has a waiver from the PDP to vie for any position under the party’s platform, urging his fellow aspirants to face the Electoral College squarely and canvass for their support, rather than reduce the contest to mere political blackmail.

According to Ipaa, Ewuga should be given his rightful standing in Nasarawa and Nigerian politics by his opponents by appreciating the aggregate values in experience, acceptability and democratic credentials ahead of the PDP primaries.

He urged them to join forces to share in the new dawn of a better Nasarawa state than expressing destructive sentiments that would lead to nowhere in the present dispensation.

Reminding his distracters of his credentials as one of the founding fathers of the PDP in the State, Ewuga reiterated that his potentials cut across the various ethnic groups of the state, wondering why anyone would want to reduce the contest to an unacceptable dimension.

He denied working for another aspirant as is being alleged, saying “I cannot be working for another aspirant as is being claimed when I have my political structures on ground and I think my democratic credentials are above average to be undermined by any sort of blackmail”.
