Nigerians tasked to pray for community, national development

Nigerians have been enjoined to pray for their various communities, as well as for the nation against corruption and other vices militating steady development in the country.

Speaking during the programme to mark a day with Jesus for Nigeria in the Holy Land, one of the clergy at the pilgrimage, Pastor Victor Eduak, while leading his batch in the special prayers, noted that Nigeria has a lineup of problems emanating from poor leadership.

He said the present challenges facing the country are as a result of both past and present mistakes committed by leaders, from the central, to the grass root level.

“We all come from communities, just like the ones we see here; the difference is that our communities lack basic amenities, good roads, water electricity etc., which are all factors necessary for steady economic growth at all levels.

Our leaders even at the grassroots level, as well as those at the central, have at various points made wrong policies or failed to implement good ones, for various reasons. Today the consequence of bad leadership has also had its effect on the masses, who are always at the receiving end of these failures.

More so, in recent times, a lot of focus has been directed to the central level, but the leaders at state and Federal levels also need to play their part for there to be even development. And there can be no better way to ensure this than for us to pray that the God of wisdom will give our community leaders the wisdom to do what is right, for the betterment of all.

Speaking also at the event, Pastor Samuel, Olajugba, noted that the nature of challenges presently facing Nigeria were a sign that the end is close for bad leaders. “We all know that the darkest part of the night is closest to morning; Nigeria is gradually approaching the end of bad leadership, and only prayers can take us to that Promised Land we hope to reach”, he stated.
