The Bauch state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it has resolved to zone the governorship position to the Central and Northern Senatorial districts of the state.

The party, in a statement issued yesterday by the Chairman of the chapter, Ibrahim Yaro Yaro, said the decision, which was taken at the PDP elder’s advisory committee meeting, was in the interest of justice and equity, since those parts never occupied the position in the present political dispensation.

It said the rotation was in line with section 2(d) of the party’s constitution, which allows for rotation of key political offices among the diverse people.

The statement said the elders agreed that the rotation of governorship seat among the three senatorial zones be maintained.

They further called on the party in the state to conduct a free and fair congress, primaries into all political positions and to also set up committee to look in to the documents of all aspirants in order to avoid litigations.

Elders of the party also resolved to fully support President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2015 Presidential election.
